After School P.R.I.D.E. Program

Promoting Raider Improvement through Daily Enrichment

P.R.I.D.E. is sponsored by the Pennsylvania 21st Century Community Learning Center Program to serve students in grades 7 and 8.  The purpose of the after school program is to provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours along with activities designed to complement the existing student academic program. The overall goal is to increase student academic achievement through enhanced academic activities, tutoring, and homework support that take place during the PRIDE program. The PRIDE program helps working parents by providing a safe environment for students during non-school hours.  Additionally, the PRIDE program offers families of these students’ adult learning opportunities centered on skills that can be beneficial to all.

P.R.I.D.E. is centered on the following four key components:

  1. Academic Support/Enrichment - Homework Assistance, Tutoring and Computers.
  2. Academic Clubs/Activities – Literacy based and centered around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
  3. Prevention of High Risk Behavior - Mentoring and Community Service.
  4. Enhanced Family Involvement - Parent Nights and Adult Education.
