Cornell students have been learning through virtual reality during the last year as a result of a STEAM grant from the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU3). This school year, students in Mrs. Susan Dunning and Mrs. Megan Fuga’s classes have immersed themselves in biomes through a collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC). Two More Google Certified Educators

Congratulations to high school English teacher, Ms. Morgan Harouse, and high school social studies teacher, Mrs. Amy Palo. The two teachers successfully completed an intense 3-hour exam to earn her Google Certified Educator Level 1 certificate. Ms. Harouse and Mrs. Palo join the ranks of several other teachers throughout the district.

Students Travel to Inventionland

Cornell's 8th grade students recently visited the Inventionland, located in RIDC park. During the tour, students witnessed several unique work areas like a pirate ship, giant robot, tree house, and many more . Inventionland creates these areas in the hopes of inspiring the many inventors that work there. Students were also allowed to explore the state-of-the-art studios and watch a video on how an idea becomes a product. After completing a pencil-holder maker project, students ate lunch in the castle.
